When Seán and Martha visit Grandad they never thought their day would turn out to be so different. Seán is captivated by Grandad’s magical stories but Martha would prefer to watch TV. While Grandad is out, Martha persuades her brother to explore all the nooks and crannies of Grandad’s house… and so they embark on a quest to investigate the truth behind Grandad’s tall tales. What ensues changes the way Seán and Martha view Grandad forever.
‘Grandad Says…’ deals with the themes of childhood and old age. The play bridges the gap between young and old, involving them both in the magic of storytelling. Through their incredible adventure the children gain a greater appreciation of Grandad stories and a deeper understanding of growing old.
